Does anyone know where I can get Dates in Kunming ? And I don't mean that funky chinese Jujube variety. I'm looking for the proper delicious, sweet and juicy middle eastern kind...Thx

While you're at it, see if you can find some serious olives, too.

You can sometimes find Medjool dates in Metro and Carrefour, but these are seasonal, and you only see them for a few weeks.
Not sure if you can get them on taobao

There are dates sold in wuyilu. I bought some before, the exact address is 靖国新村67号附近,顺城清真寺.

There are also a variety available on Taobao. Search for 椰枣 (palm date).

We're in the process of reformulating the Dali Bar energy bars found around town to use a palm date base. Those should hopefully roll out either just before or right after Spring Festival.
