Hello,
I am looking for a shop where I can find natural/ organic/ non-animal tested beauty products. It would be awesome if it can fit all the criteria, but only one of them is as well ok.
I am especially looking for green clay or any exfoliant, as well as Indian henna for my hair (real, pure henna, not the shitty one cut with chemicals).
I am really not familiar with the downtown so far, so I have no idea where to look for !
If someone can help me, it will be much appreciated !
I'd be interested in this info too. Particularly products not tested on animals... though I think unfortunately they are not easy to come by in China. :/ Right now I get my mum to send them from England.
Getting them sent from abroad or stocking them from Hong Kong would be best. Anything in China can be labelled as natural and organic.
@Yankee00 : that doesn't sound good... nothing is safe here ! lol !
But we are so close from India, there should be an indian shop where I can find pure henna ?
I have tried to look on Internet but I have a hard time finding accurate info. It seems there is no Yves Rocher store, neither L'Occitane en Provence in Kunming (they are certainly not the best one for organics products, but it's the only foreign one I know).
However, it seems there is a Body Shop, but I am not too sure, their store-locator is quite messy, it talks about HK, Macao..
Saramati restaurant in Beishi Qu import indian products. They might know about pure genuine henna.
I haven't seen L'Occitane here, but they have stores in Chengdu (cheap flights).
Gingko shopping malls might have trustworthy products in their beauty section.
I found this on the Body Shop website. Basically don't trust Body Shop brands if you see them in mainland China...
''Does The Body Shop operate in Mainland China?
No, The Body Shop does not currently operate in Mainland China. We have no stores or online shopping presence. The Body Shop cannot guarantee the quality or authenticity of any products purchased in Mainland China.''
I recommend a shopping trip to Hong Kong. Buy any electronics you need too there.
Being close to India or Vietnam helps very little. Very few of the foods or good stuff from either place makes it here.
There is a Thai shopping mall (not Nanya) that carries a very limited supply of some natural thai beauty supplies. Saw a few natural soaps there, but it's very limited.
In fact you are more likely to get the low end Indian goods in Kunming, than the high end. That could mean not as natural as you think.

Seems Chinese cosmetics are required to be tested on animals, so its 100% sure if you buy Chinese cosmetics or cosmetics sold legally in China that they have been tested on animals. This might explain Body Shops absence from mainland China.
@AlexKMG
Where is the Thai shopping mall?
