I was highly surprised to see a Wal=Mart in Kunming! By any chance are they open 24 hours? I'm starting to see there are many surprises here.

No mega store is open 24 hours. That means Walmart, Metro, etc. I believe Walmart and Metro closes around 10:30 or 11:00 p.m.

why do stores need to be open 24 hours? who shops at 4 am?

Who would even ask such a question. Is there any Walmart open 24 hours anywhere in the world? What bridge? What is the purpose of this post? Is it just me or do the people who write their first post purposely ask the most ridiculous questions? Is it a coincidence that this is an unverified member? They don't sell bridges yet at Walmart in Kunming, but they do have oatmeal and hindquarters on promotion this week.

If you haven't arrived in Kunming yet, a word of caution. BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU BUY FOODSTUFFS. Fake is the norm in China. Another thing is that Kunming really isn't a '24 hour' city. The buses stop running at around 10:30-11:30 pm. Even the new subway system close early.

Mcd, KFC or 7/11 are not super centers and anyone can find 24 hour fast food restaurants all over the world.
