My wife has a plastic card tied to her WeChat Pay account. She can use the card at an ATM to receive and deposit cash. Printed on the card is "Electronic Use Only". What does that mean exactly? It implies the card has limitations compared to a debit card. Can anyone clue me in?
Might mean that it does not have a magnetic strip used in older machines to read out the data.
What does electronic use only mean?
In general, "Electronic Use Only" cards can be used to make online, phone and mail-order purchases, in addition to on-the-spot transactions. Merchants making "remote" sales are usually able to obtain instant authorization, same as if you were going through a terminal, so these transactions qualify as electronic.
