I've seen ads placed here for as little as 70 RMB to 100 and as high as 150 per hour. Some even lower the per hour rate if you book in blocks of time.

If you are looking for a teacher, check that they are qualified to teach Chinese as a foreign language. There are plenty of people out there who are.

If they tell you they were English majors, or that they taught Chinese in high-school, it does not mean that they can teach Chinese to a foreigner. They may be able to, but you should only pay at the bottom end for someone to practice their teaching skills on you.
If they say that they have taught foreigners before, ask for a reference (contact number), as anyone can say anything, and some people do say anything.
Find someone from your part of the city, some 'teachers' get bored very quickly if they have to travel a lot. You don't need to be travelling a lot either.

I am a postgraduation student, my major is anthropology, and I hope we can exchange our language if you have no Chinese tutor.
