Hey guys, i've arrived in Kunming just a week ago, and would like to know if there's any music scene here, preferably rock, metal, etc.

Barfly will have a Metal night on Sunday nights and usually play alternitive music all week long besides Kris' occasional house splurges. :)

so it doesn't exist (talking about metal scene) you can hear some good blues rock from local ol' folks, sometimes but its very rare mao live house bring some bands from abroad but it happens once a year or so, local punks you can hear in DT Bar
