Update on the express bus from Lijiang to Lugu Lake.

Since 2018, a new bus service route has been provided by the local government. 80rmb round trip. 3.5 hour journey. Two departure times, 9am and 14pm from Lijiang Old Town to Lugu Lake. Info can be found on Taobao.

Has GoK written an official featured blog article on Lugu Lake? Having trouble with the search function.

Btw, it seems the rates of Lijiang inns (客栈) have been restoring back to previous levels for the 5.1 holidays in recent days. Lijiang rents were previously suspended for 3 months by landlords in unison to keep the town and their respective businesses afloat. Not sure whether this was gov. stipulation or collective gestures of goodwill by landlords themselves. Most likely the former. In Kunming, shopping centers like TKP waived rents for only one month.

Lastly, current admission prices at various public venues at Lugu Lake are half off their regular fees. Though there are still travel restriction wrinkles pertaining to Yunnan and Sichuan non-residents that need to be ironed out.

***thread tidied up***

No news without sources please.

FYI: We have also touched base with accomodation and local government in Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-la and foreigners can certainly visit, even if they are limited in their choice of accommodation.

Above poster's situation is a bit more unique, pertaining to foreigners who haven't traveled outside China for past few months, prior to the 14-day quarantine stipulation for international arrivals.

For these non-Chinese travelers to Yunnan destinations like Dali, screenshot or photocopy of previous airline booking/invoice need to be prepared on-hand, not just health codes on smartphone. This is the recommendation of Dali's CDC (疾病预防控制局, aka "防控局") as relayed by government personnel in Dali's tourism bureau (旅游局). All conversation by telephone so no source links. Local police stations and hotels weren't as fruitful/accommodating as previously mentioned. The lack of synchronicity of information has always been a challenge.

Thank you for taking time to touch base with local government regarding this issue. May I ask which divisions of government were contacted to ascertain your green light certainty?

The last thing we want is to arrive there and be met with mandatory quarantine, as warned by police and various inns. During this period, hotels/inns are required by law to immediately report to police when foreigners check-in. Failing to do so result in a fine.
