You should definitely get the photos done there. They are cheap, but more importantly, they are a different size to passport photos.
Additionally, the medical is just a simple eye test, with an eye chart.
BTW, in case anyone is worried, it is not a written test, it is a theory test with computer based multiple choice answers. Chose A, B, C, or D.
