I personally prefer su ji xiang next to moonlight corner on qing yun jie. It's 20 kuai all you can eat buffet, food selection way larger than the lian hua chi place and they make more for awhile if dishes get low. I've gone to lian hua chi before and only gotten the dregs of 2 or 3 dishes because I got there a little late on a busy day. Su ji xiang makes 20ish dishes, 4 or 5 soups, rice and noodles etc. Both good though.

I recommend Sujixiang. There is a newer place on Baoshan lu by the hotel that is good about 38rmb all you can eat. The one in Kundu is nice. The new one on Wen Lin Jie is more pricey with gourmet looking food but they have a28rmb meal. Many of the so-called veggie places that have popped up allover Kunming are not real veggie or not always very clean or safe but are 20rmb all you can eat. The over use the oil or use meat based oils, use MSG and many are more pretend Buddhist than run by real veggie owners. Also Salvador's has veggie food.

Er Kuai is also a nice rice and peanut veggie snack for about 2.5rmb available in many places.
