If it's only for 'little gain' as you say it could possibly be the Chinese smoke and mirrors game in front of bosses or potential clients. Western face and talent to impress and happening in all industries here.
"Here are my wealthy western expert designer friends. I am well connected internationally with all the latest standards and niches. They have entrusted me as their friend a few wonderful designs which I will be drawing up shortly with our scanner and printer, so you need me. Cigarette? Ganbei!"
"I just had a similar experience :

Thanks Patrick_CH for your contribution.
Seems they are now after ski training centres.
It is very unlikely that a training centre will contact anybody directly. Normally these kind of contacts are done through travel agents with established relations and partners in the destination area.
I don’t know if they doing the standard “come and sign and then you buy some cigarettes” trick or that they are waiting to be invited to come to Switzerland for an all expenses paid free holiday for themselves.
Anyway pretty ridicules; three hours of training a day during five days for 90 days. If you want to learn to ski you go for from sun rise till sundown seven days a week.
Ahhh... thank god I found this site in time!!
Same email as the guy above about architectural service requirements for a "European-style" hotel in Kunming. We have been invited to visit them in China but they suggested we obtain Tourist rather than Business visas. All sounded a little suspicious... luckily we have not been duped. I did find the tender notice on (what I believe to be) a reputable online architectural magazine. Although they add a disclaimer for any advertised tenders, they should remove such fraudulent content. Just emailing them now... hopefully others will avoid this trap too!
@TaraW
Thanks for sharing this information.
Can you give the link to this "online architectural magazine" ?
www.e-architect.co.uk/architecture-tenders
I emailed them a few hours ago with a link to this forum and asked if they can remove the "tender notice". Despite there being a disclaimer, if there is evidence to suggest this is fraudulent they should remove it from their website.... My thoughts anyway!
@TaraW
Looks this e-architect website gets its data for these tenders from tendertiger.com. Both sites only function as a platform for tenders and don’t take any responsibility.
tendertiger.com is based in India and they claim to handle hundred thousands of tenders. Understandably some bad apples will go through there as well.
Sorry you got one of them, good you did not get fully scammed.
Theres only one thing that can solve this. Get the word out in West about this scam. Get it to the media - those of you who been scammmed - dont go into hiding, rather go and tell your stories outside gokunming media, and outside the coffee table of your company. Even if these scammwrs are catched, they are slippery as hell, they got backup, and they can and will show up in new camouflage. The reason this is going on is theres not enough word out there, and theres still this myth about the endless lucrative opportunities. Its a clever myth. No russian revenge would solve this either and wrong people could get targeted, and even if lemon would send his fascist buddies who been shooting 'nazis' from texas to las vegas, the scammers would show up in new dress.
In a word: get the word out. Just one article in mainstream media may get it on the table of the politbureau in east. Last year when I commented here and asked a question, one who had been scammed sent the answer in pm, he thought it so shameful. You need to break this personal shame and shame the justified target.
Peter99 you have not been reading this thread because then you would know that this has been reported in main stream western media. Anyway why are you suddenly referring to “mainstream media”? The same guys you and your friends at Infowars despise so much!
Well, lemon, theres 30 pages here, and ive been reading most, if not all. Cant recall any reference to anyone saying their case was reported in any of the western mainstream media outlets, or that they (teamed up and) contacted one with their story/stories - excuse me if there was one. Say, why dont you flip that reference out, fascist, since you are refering to one.
And yea, 'fake news' like cnn still gets out this stuff, and around the globe. If they cant do it, then its up to the alternative media. Which is starting to do a good job already. I personally wouldnt mind that at all.
The guy who sent me pm here was saying his situation was actually worse than he stated here, having paid - something like - 'stamp fees' for a few thousands, but this was something he personally kept hidden due to the embarrassment involved.
