Winners: Best of Kunming Awards 2019-2020

By in Features on

Last Saturday, the businesses, attractions and destinations who received the highest number of votes for the Best of Kunming Awards 2019-2020 were awarded their prize at Paulaner Brauhaus Kunming, a different venue and one with a lot of character. Keats School contributed greatly to making the event possible, so we would like to extend a big thank you to both Paulaner and Keats.

It was another year that saw more people than ever before vote for their favorite places in Kunming and Yunnan. Thank you to everyone who took the time to cast their vote on the website and via WeChat. Winners were announced and celebrated at the seventh annual Best of Kunming Awards Gala and lots of fun was had by all.

We wanted to highlight Yunnan province's unique diversity as well as its goals for sustainability in tourism. One way to do this was by interspersing the evening with dance performances that celebrated diversity in different ways. One performance featured a vigorous Dai dance routine, and some of the performances were in drag. Another way was by presenting the big prize at the end of the night — an eco-friendly two-day tour near Lijiang, organized by Xintuo Travel and Wild Mountain.

We'll publish a complete write-up of the event soon, but here you find a short impression video and below, most importantly, the complete list of winners.

Just like with last year's results, we included the winners and runners up for website voting, both followed by the percentage of total votes received by each. Below the GoKunming website winners — in categories where it is applicable — are the businesses, attractions and destinations that won on WeChat and an honorary award that we handed out this year.
