Awards ceremony

This year GoKunming proudly presents the inaugural Best of Kunming Awards Ceremony. The evening will begin with a short presentation of the long-awaited GoKunming site redesign. The website has an updated appearance, improved functionality and features a responsive design. It looks great across mobile devices, laptop and desktop computers. Despite the changes, the new GoKunming maintains obvious connections to its seven-year history.

The new website walkthrough is set to be followed by our awards ceremony. Winners in our ten Best of Kunming categories will be recognized. Each business will receive four free tickets to the event and a complimentary bottle of Prosecco. They will also be presented with free promotional space on GoKunming during the ceremony.

Live music throughout the night will be provided by Dos Amigos and Friends. They have an eclectic evening of music planned. Sets will feature jazz, ethnic fusion and Spanish music performed by Alex (guitar and xiaoruan), Holly (vocals), Will (piano and beatbox), Charlie (trumpet and percussion) and Sean (guitar, guzheng, ruan and sanxian).

Advance tickets to the event cost 30 yuan and can be purchased at Alei Lounge Club & Tapas Bar, O'Reilly's Irish Pub and Salvador's Coffee House. Only a limited supply of advance tickets are available. Tickets at the door cost 40 yuan.

GoKunming would like to thank sponsors Alei Lounge Club & Tapas Bar and Sapore Italia and we encourage all who are attending to dress up in cocktail party attire. Congratulations again to all of this year's winners! We hope to see you January 6.

best international cuisine that's impossible to get in kunming 2013: vietnamese
runner-up: greek

'Cocktail party attire' - huh.

Very, very suprised at these results. Moondog is such a great and busy bar, but it is not even runner up :(
I guess all the Chinese site members voted for Babi, since none of us foreigners are allowed in there....

well done guys. i have to admit that i was skeptical about the awards ceremony, but it was good fun and i hope you repeat it every year. gokunming means a lot to this community and it was nice to spend a night sharing it together. cheers

@colin - I quite agree. It was a great atmosphere and a wonderful way to start the new year. Congratulations to all the winners, very much looking forward to the new site.

I am very happy that all this happened, and I am proud of Huyang, my Chinese school, for winning that category. Keep up the good work, Go Kunming!

What are the changes to the GoKunming website? It looks the same to me.
Or are the changes only on the mobile version?
