This weekend, TCG Nordica will hold their Tenth Annual International Christmas Fair. The art space at Nordica will once again be transformed with the sights, sounds, smells and flavors of Christmas.

The 2013 Christmas Fair is designed to provide a unique, community-centered market experience. As of this writing, forty different local individuals and organizations have signed up to participate and make their goods available for purchase.

Food and family are always a big part of the fair and Nordica is offering a menu of traditional Swedish Christmas items while Mazagran Cafe will be serving its signature international fare. In addition to the food, specialty coffee will be served up by Hani Coffee and Swedish Glögg — or mulled wine — will be available for adults.

The fair will also feature several live performances, including a saxophone quartet and recitals by Lisu and Miao choirs. There will also be two stagings of a traditional Scandinavian play entitled Lucia on Friday at 6pm and Saturday at 11am.

Plenty of activities will be made available for children as well, with a room where kids can construct their own Christmas tree ornaments, have their faces painted and create unique arts and crafts. A movie room showing children's films will also be provided.

This year, the proceeds from the fair will be put toward Nordica's continued efforts to enliven the art community in Kunming and help young artists in the city thrive.

The International Christmas Fair begins December 6 and runs from 5-9pm. Saturday, December 7, the fair will be open from 9am to 6pm. The entrance fee is two yuan and all are welcome. For more information, visit Nordica's website.
