This Friday and Saturday TCG Nordica will once again host the annual Kunming Community Christmas Fair. For the 8th year in a row, the Loft art space will be filled with the sights, sounds, smells and flavors of Christmas. Last year approximately 1,000 people came and got a taste of the holidays at the fair.

This year's Christmas fair is shaping up to be the biggest to date. Forty different local individuals and organizations will have their goods available for purchase. A great opportunity to do some holiday shopping and also benefit our community as handmade items from local expats and unique handicrafts from Yunnan minorities will highlight the event.

To relax after some serious shopping, local day spa Canaan Day Spa is providing free shoulder and head massages at this year's fair.

Of course, food will be a big part of this year's fair. This year accompanying the already fantastic menu of Swedish Christmas items from Nordica there will be a special food section catered by Sandra's, including turkey sandwiches and spiced pumpkin soup. Sandra has also made 20 kilograms of five different kinds of fudge. In addition to food, specialty coffee drinks will be provided by Dr Java.

The fair will feature live musical performances including a special traditional Swedish Christmas performance at 2pm on Saturday. There will also be plenty of activities for the children with a whole room available where the kids can put together ornaments, make Christmas treats, have their face painted and have fun making other arts and crafts. A movie room for toddlers will also be provided.

One of the most important aspects of the Christmas Fair is giving.
This year five percent of all the money generated by the fair will be donated to a local charity in addition to all of the entrance fees collected. The charity is the Hills Community Center, which for the last five years has helped migrant workers' children with health and education programs.

The Kunming Community Christmas Fair will be on Friday, December 2nd, 5-9 pm and Saturday, December 3rd, 10 am to 6 pm. The entrance fee is two yuan and all are welcome. For more details, visit Nordica's website.
