Friday: Rugby World Cup at Grand Park Kunming
Rugby fans take note: the revolving bar on the 21st floor of the Grand Park Kunming will be showing Rugby World Cup games. Friday at 4pm host country New Zealand will take on Japan.

Friday: Artist talk at 943 Space
943 Studio resident artist Ching Ching Cheng from Taiwan will participate in an artist talk at 943 Space Friday night from 8 to 9pm. The free event will focus on the economics of contemporary art.

Friday: Tonic cocktail night at The Box
Stiff gin and tonics and vodka tonics will be the order of the night at The Box on Friday night from 8 to 11:30.

Friday: Mexican Independence party at Cacao
Cacao Mexican Restaurant will throw a party to celebrate Mexican Independence Friday night beginning at 9 with DJ Dutch providing salsa and meringue beats all night. Bar specials include margaritas for 25 yuan, gin and tonics and Cuba libres for 20 yuan, Sol and Beerlao for 18 yuan, tequila shots for 15 yuan and Tsingtaos for 12 yuan. Spicy or barbecue chicken wings will also be available for 30 yuan per serving.

Friday: Joost at Moondog
Joost will take the stage at Moondog at 9 for a free show. Mojitos will be on special for 15 yuan.

Friday: HuLuWa Jack & Dudes at The Hump Bar
HuLuWa Jack & Dudes will play Friday night at The Hump Bar beginning at 9:30. In addition to the live music, the bar will debut its Dali-style plum wine cocktail, which will be on special all night for 10 yuan.

Friday: Virgo Star Sign Party at The Club
The Club will hold a Virgo star sign party Friday night beginning at 10. All star signs are welcome to attend the free party.

Friday: Jam session at The Mask
Friends of The Mask are invited to get together Friday for a night of jamming. Music starts at 10, all performers will get free drinks. Entry is free.

Saturday: Rugby World Cup at Kunming Grand Park
The Kunming Grand Park 21st floor bar will show the Rugby World Cup matches between Argentina and Romania (1:30pm), South Africa and Fiji (2pm) plus Australia and Ireland (4:30pm).

Saturday: Traditional Vietnamese music at TCG Nordica
Saturday night TCG Nordica will host an evening of music with Nguyen Thanh Thuy, renowned for her mastery of the dan tranh, a traditional Vietnamese zither. Entry is 40 yuan at the door, show starts at 8.

Saturday: Han Bing at Moondog
Musician Han Bing will perform Saturday night at Moondog. The free show starts at 9.

Saturday: Rakasasa at Laowo Bar
Anhui heavy metal band Rakasasa (罗刹乐队), which has two female vocalists, will play the recently renovated Laowo Bar Saturday night. Tickets for the 9 o'clock show are 30 yuan at the door.

Saturday: DJ Tryouts at The Mask
Beginning at 9:30 on Saturday night, The Mask will open up its DJ booth to anyone that thinks they have what it takes to get the party going. Aspiring DJs will be given 30 minutes each and will receive free drinks. Entry is free.

Saturday: DJ Beng at The Hump
DJ Beng from Guangzhou will be the featured DJ at The Hump Bar Saturday night. Music starts at 10, entry is free.

Sunday: More Rugby at Kunming Grand Park
Rugby World Cup matches that will be shown at the 21st floor bar at the Kunming Grand Park on Sunday afternoon include Wales v Samoa (1:30pm), England v Georgia (2pm) and France v Canada (4:30pm).
