Friday: Francophone day at the Yunnan Normal Arts and Sciences College
As part of the 16th China Francophone Festival, Kunming will have a francophone day on Friday. Activities will include lectures, performances, food samplings and other cultural demonstrations. The francophone day runs from 1 to 9pm at the Longquan Lu campus of Yunnan Normal's Arts and Sciences College. More information is available here.

Friday: Live musical acts at Moondog
Friday evening at Moondog kicks off with laoban Joost performing his latest songs. Later Steve and David of Kunming's own Great Apes rock band will keep the music rolling. The free shows starts at 9pm.

Friday: Kaysar at Laba
Xinjiang native Kaysar (凯撒) will perform his fusion of folk ballads, latin and jazz, among many other musical influences, at Laba on Friday. Entry to the 9pm show is 30 yuan and the bar will treat the first three paying guests through the door to a bottle Belgian-made Lindemans Kriek beer.

Friday: Electronica party at Yuansheng Fang
Yuansheng Fang will host DJ Zhi playing house, trance and psytrance on Friday. Entry to the 9:30pm outdoor (indoor in case of rain) event is 15 yuan and includes a free beer.

Friday: Live music at 1895
David and Steve of The Great Apes will juggle their performance at Moondog with free sets around the corner at 1895 Movie Bar on Friday starting at 10pm.

Friday: Electronica at Skyhouse Uprock
Tibetan DJ R Sun plays hip hop, drum 'n' bass, dubstep and electro at Skyhouse Uprock on Friday. Entry to the 10pm party is free.

Friday: Live music at Ganesh
Singer-songwriter Sean Weatherall will perform at Ganesh tonight. The free performance starts at 10pm.

Saturday: Free coffee day at Chicago Coffee
Chicago Coffee in the Think UK complex will be giving away free cups of coffee all day on Saturday. Donations will be accepted to aid in earthquake relief in Yunnan and Japan.

Saturday: Jazz concert at TCG Nordica
Pianist Martin Berggren will play a show titled 'Now and Then: A Journey Through the History of Jazz' at TCG Nordica on Saturday evening. The show starts at 9pm and tickets are 35 yuan at the door or 30 yuan in advance from TCG Nordica, Wheatfield, 1895 Movie Bar, or Yisa Bookstore in Chunyuan Xiaoqu. Saturday: Lazy Bones third birthday party
It seems like yesterday that Lazy Bones restaurant and food delivery service opened. But time flies when you're having fun and Lazy Bones is already three years in business. The evening celebration at Lazy Bones Restaurant in Think UK on Saturday will include champagne rum punch, beer specials, music and free pizza from 8 to 9pm.

Saturday: Alcoholiday at Nashville Bar
Thai and South Korean rock band Alocholiday plays Nashville Bar on Saturday night. The 8pm show is 20 yuan at the door or 15 yuan in advance by calling 15087047218 or 15808717372.

Saturday: DJ Flaccid at The Hump Bar
Mr Flaccid will play dirty classic funk at The Hump Bar starting at 10pm on Saturday. Tequila shots will be 10 yuan each.

Sunday: Burger day at The Box
The Box is running burger specials all day this Sunday. Buy a chicken or beef burger and get a free Tsingtao, Dali beer or Coca-Cola, or get two burgers for 45 yuan.

Sunday: Roast meal at Slice of Heaven

Sunday: Moondog happy hour
