I wish the elevated rail were 1st priority, not the elevated 2d ring road. Bigger highways = more cars = more pollution, and all the other foolishness associated with cars.

That was one happy python I bet.

"CBA director Xin Lancheng singled out foreign players as being one of the league's major problems, saying they were overpaid and hard to manage, adding that rules regarding foreign players would be revised."

Typical. Blame the foreigners for not bending over backwards for their employers. 19 of 20 on the top scorers list were foreigners you say? How does that fit with them being "overpaid"?

There goes another one! How long does it take before PC deference means we have another extinct animal? The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world they were ignorant, and didn't know any better. Shameful.

Great that the government at least is trying to put some weight against raging capitalism when it potentially can devastate the ecology and environment in 3 provinces. Doubt it is more than a short intermission on the other hand.

Hey Beizhan,
Thanks for your reply. It's an interesting topic, isn't it? I think so too, especially when living in Yunnan.

It's not my company. I'm just mentioning it because I do think there are better tourisms than others. And people might not know about it...

I did some advertisement for the forum post you wrote earlier as well. Hope you can find more people to debate these world dilemmas! Let me advertise yet another company (still not mine) and their view on sustainability vs profitability: www.wildchina.com/blog/?p=174

If you ask me, I think nobody should travel... or live for that matter, it's just too bad for the environnement...
Seriously though, I like Maggie's positive note!

You're going to start to see more amusement parks all over China. They have been identified by the travel & tourism industry as a big investment opportunity. I'm not excited about it, but I do love a roller coaster, so I guess I can't begrudge the Chinese public the chance to ride one.

On a positive note, maybe the construction of actual theme parks will stem the practice of turning ancient towns into theme parks...
