Obituary: Arun Veembur
Posted byArun was the nicest guy. His often weird sense of humour made me laugh many a times down at the Hump. Last time I saw the lad must have been several months back doing his horrible but funny Charlie Chaplin impersonation. I can't believe he is dead tbh. A reminder to us all that life can be taken away so swiftly and unfairly.
I'll miss you Arun as I suspect all people who knew you will.

Protected buffer zone to surround Dianchi Lake
Posted by'Nope' has a point. But I hope that the recent crackdown on corruption will deter too many new villas being built (There will be some, of course).
If not, perhaps, the arrival of the next revolution will arrive before we originally imagined.
Protected buffer zone to surround Dianchi Lake
Posted byindeed the lake wouldn't be such a disaster had the local officials done something about it nearly a decade ago. the lake is so horribly polluted you'd have to imagine it would take years, if not decades to recuperate. too little, too late.
Protected buffer zone to surround Dianchi Lake
Posted byAll those billions of dollars are just buying all those POS Porsche Cayennes. Nothing will ever happen with that lake until Beijing puts some oversight on the local peasants turned leaders in Kunming. I've heard too many stories of people taking all that money and then putting on a grand spectacle to show the Beijing leaders when they come down. Can't wait to hear about the new huge houses and vacations purchased with this money. To be rich is glorious.
Protected buffer zone to surround Dianchi Lake
Posted byHoly jeezum this is awesome! That foul smelling green lake needs some serious clean up and a local government that wants to improve it. Let's hope that this is it.
Government, ad agencies clash over billboard demolitions
Posted byTear those billboards down asap. Almost everything in this city is plastered with adds and commercials to a point where I can't understand why the Chinese don't complain about it more. Eyesores.
Interview: Du Fei of the Dangsters Dance Crew
Posted byvery hot and sexy girls but, honestly, can they do anything else besides copy the moves they see on tv from american dancers. If they love hip hop and dance as much as they say they do, then the Dangsters should know that creativity is at the heart of hip hop. Perhaps changing their name to the Copysters would be fitting.

Posted byI am a member of a AVG reenacting group In Calif. Unlike other reenactment group, each member of our group Picks an actural member of the AVG. So this way at show and displays we become the Person we picked, making the history take on a realism because we take the time to study everything we can about our charicter, much like a living Douctumentry. I think John Woo will do a Fantastic job. So Mr. if you need any trained and properly uniformed AVG Flying Tigers there are 9 of us that know our parts Our web site is www.avglivinghistorygroup.com/

Posted byAt long last the amazing story that is the Flying Tigers and Chinese people durring WWII may get told. General Chennault has n ever been given proper recognition for his military genuis. Never have so few done so much for so many with so little as the Flying Tigers and CBI cobatants in China in WWII. The Chinese side of the story also needs explored and put before the world to see. Their loyalty to the Flying Tigers allowed 95% of all the pilots who were shot down behind enemy lines and who were picked up by Chinese to get back to their base. The Chinese paid a dear price for this loyalty often suffering torture and death. For stories related to the Fluying Tigers and information on a project in Guilin, China to honor the Flying Tigers and Chinese go to www.FlyingTigerHeritagePark.com.
