I guess it would depend on where in the city you live. There is an office at the north bus terminal just off of LinYu Lu that also has the bus passes. I'm going to guess that all of the major terminals would have an office that does the same.

Spider,
It sounds like you were trying to get a cab during rush hour. That takes a lot of luck since the number or taxis has not increased with the population. Once the subway opens the situation may be relieved a bit.
I went through this bringing cats to Kunming from Canada. One of the things I found out is that the requirements can vary by country, so it's best to check with American officials (probably at the consulate).
Also, the airlines may have different requirements as well. We flew on KAL and they required a cage large enough for the animals to stand and turn around - ONE EACH. Their ticket cost almost as much as mine.
I usually just make eye contact, smile, nod and continue on my way, and the others usually do the same. No big deal.
My wife found seeds and soil around Chenggong. I presume that was the wholesale market mentioned by Ahmet.
No results found.
Had my first ever visit to Slice of Heaven last night for a group party. Barbara recognized me as a newcomer and immediately came to welcome me and introduce herself.
While speaking with her at the counter, a server walked past with a pizza for one table. The aroma immediately caught my attention. It was awesome.
Our group shared 4 different pizzas. All were amazing. I think the sauce really makes the difference since it was very flavourful. I also put back to cups of cappuccino. I guess they must have fixed problems noted in other reviews because I found it to be quite good.
If I lived closer I would be a regular here.
Singapore preparing for high-altitude challenge
发布者The Chinese team does their winter training in Kunming, so they are used to the altitude.
Kunming launches forum site for foreigners
发布者I'm not sure this is actually a competitor site. The Kunming government has a responsibility to encourage and develop new sources of investment and tourism. In this new site they are simply doing their job.
It's possible they may have access to information that would not be immediately available to GoKunming, and vice versa, so the two sites could actually be complementary rather than competitive.
As for their skill with the English language, so what if it's not perfect. It's way better than my knowledge of the Chinese language and in general I can understand what they are trying to say.
