they asked me for some official business certificates too so now i just go with the 'mei you ka' option. never been a problem getting a card number from the next person in line. although, last week the chinese guy behind me at the check out was also shopping without a card and they refused to serve him or allow him to use another person's card even though i'd just done exactly that. maybe they'll be clamping down on that soon too...
i haven't been there for ages... hope it's not gone. i'll keep an eye open for it if i pass by today.
decent quality stuff without the crazy prices and a fair selection plus you can see from one side to the other! i expect that there are numerous others but i found them helpful and that's where i'll be going the next time i need bedding/textiles.
there's a shop on renmin zhong lu. it's on the opposite side to the Provincial Human Resources building. around there somewhere on a corner. can't remember the crossroad name...
Samsung are apparently branded as Anycall here. there are a fair few shops at Baihui Commercial Plaza (1 stop on from Xiao Xi Men on DongFeng Xi Lu). No idea how to be sure of the quality but i'm pretty sure that it will be cheaper if you get a local chinese person to buy it for you!

The only place worth going for a beer in Lijiang. Small place with a super friendly vibe. Great relaxed hangout for locals and travellers alike.
a lovely place to stay with great views of Yulong xueshan (JadeDragon snow mountain) from the roof! Beautifully decorated and hosts that make you feel like family. A million miles better than most other places locally. I can't recommend this place enough.
i thought i'd give this place another try as my usual place was closed today. even though there is now more choice, i was not impressed by the menu. they do have an apparently good range of coffees for up to 80 kuai but even a basic latte is Y26 now. the drinks were OK but nothing special and certainly not worth the money. the place looked somehow cleaner too and was certainly busier! why have so many of the cafes in this area decided that it's fine to raise their prices by so much (in some cases almost double)? i doubt i'll be going back. the 2 stars are because it was just OK and they've obviously made some effort.
not a bad selection of stuff and some of the staff obviously know their way around a bike. however, the 'special' prices for foreigners and the fact that some of the staff will use a big hammer to fix anything keeps me from going back. you could do better.
I won't go there again. The yoghurt is tasty and the curries are usually ok (they seem to vary in quality depending on the day and time). What really annoys me is the fact that they can't comprehend that I order dishes to eat TOGETHER... if my curry arrives 30 minutes after all the other dishes it's not really acceptable. Then again, neither is the 1 hour wait for the rest of the food or the incorrect dishes being sent. By the way, why can't I sit on the 3rd floor until both of the other floors are packed full? Has it never occurred to them that I might want a quiet meal and, after all, I am paying for it!

发布者it's not a look that's going to be to liked by everyone. what's worse is that the surface and colour of the computer model aren't so bad... the actual one resembles a rusty old shed! that said, i guess it's what's inside that counts!

发布者There are certainly quite a few spots that could do with a bit of management. I know of one road that is completely closed off at night by these sellers with their physical barriers! I believe that some sellers may already be 'offering gifts and donations' in order for some city personnel to turn a blind eye. Sure the odd shaokao spot is great but does any street or any city in the world need hundreds of unregulated sellers? they often sell their fakes and rubbish from quite expensive cars and vans... i doubt that they really NEED to be doing this! I hope they can apply this to other areas. I often have to avoid Xiaoximen (and other areas) just because of the congestion and the semi-organised gangs that appear to run them.
