Forums > Living in Kunming > long distance running
according to google maps it's a 9 km run.
it gets a bit dusty 1 km before the before the bridge (green roundabout on the map) and 500m after. Continue on that road, and you can make it up to XiShan.
Another place I like to cycle is near Dianchi lake. not very long, but there's a wide sidewalk for you and if you chose the right time, not too many people.

If you keep going west on Remin Lu, you will eventually hit Chunyu Rd. A relatively empty road by Kunming standards. Keep running south and you will get to XiShan.
What I talk about when I talk about running, by Murakami. Great book, eventhough I'm not a runner. I also have it as an Audiobook.

Nice idea tiger. Have you seen any in Kunming? Anyone making custom frames?
Don't get me wrong, I found plenty of suppliers selling structural aluminum pipe. "Sure, how many tonnes do you need?" .. "Err, 20 meters in total..."
And then I never hear from them again.

How about aluminum pipes? Anyone knows where I can get any? I've been to an industrial area near the airport, they had all kinds of pipes (PVC, copper, steel, electric conduit and square aluminum for balconies.... ) everything except round aluminum pipes!

Forums > Living in Kunming > calling all artists! ~~art collective in kunming
I'm as far as you can imagine from artists. Form follows function for me, no matter how ugly the 'form' I come up with looks.
I'm a what you cal the amateur tinkerer, and I really like building stuff. Interested to see how others setup their studio. Ideal setup in my mind: One big room, ground floor, plenty of tables and closets .. high ceiling with ceiling fans... And most importantly a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit; I often get 'bright' ideas. As far as workplace setup, I'm similar to artists.
So who else is on the list? What do you do, how do you do it?
