    HI Alex,

    Thanks for the advice... I definitely will keep up with her shots. She isn't quite ready to run long distances, but I am running 10 kilometers every morning and will be taking her with me. Gradually ramping up to 25k...

    The residential area we live in is ideal and very clean. I have trained her to poop on a piece of newspaper I put on the ground and my neighbors look shocked (but pleased). Another large dog owner now cleans up their dog poop since I raised the bar.

    If you ever get a dobie drop me a line and we can meet up.

    p.s. How old is old enough for rabies shot? I heard 6 months... what do you think for a doberman?

    I had a similar experience once when I lived in Jin Xing area (northish). The police were overzealous... they would even call to remind me when my visa was about to expire. They were friendly about it... just doing their job. Still...it annoys me. Strength in numbers... if possible live somewhere where there are tons of other foreigners and they won't give a shit.

    Recently got a 3 month old female doberman. She is great fun and real sweetheart. Anyone else out there have a doberman? Care to share experiences of raising a doberman in Kunming? If nearby maybe a doberman "play time" could be arranged.

    I have eaten at the Box II about 5 times now and I can say that I am extremely pleased with both the service and the food. Sandra and Pierre make all the food themselves. Everything is fresh and hand-made as if you were eating at the home of an Italian family!

    Every week they have a new list of special dishes that are fabulous! Their normal menu has a good variety of Italian fare. Domestic and Imported beers are available and all the prices are reasonable.

    The location is quiet and the restaurant is very tastefully decorated. This might be good place for a romantic outing?!?
