  • Why are Westerners so obsessed with freezing beers? Not all beer is meant to be drunk at sub Artic temperatures.

  • This place has a pretty cool interior, and good sound system. Venue-wise, one of the best places in Kunming.

    The service is a bit slow, but I think that is a GOOD thing, this is not KFC.

    The only bad thing I can say is that it can be unfriendly. And maybe that is not bad, at least it is honest.

    The first times I went there, I got some unfriendly stares from staff, and no greetings. Later, no more unfriendly stares, but always pretty cold, no greetings at all, and just kind of a bit unfriendly from the staff and some of the regulars. I know this is China, but I would say Laba goes another step in the coldness department. The truth is, I don't really mind that, and if you don't, then you will probably like this bar.

  • i was here last year,,,and i love that place.i was really happy,cause i can see club 8's live,,that swedish band.but the ticket toooooo expensive.,next time i hope to see the xxx,,and the temper trap,if its possible

  • A lot better than before, the mixing desk is downstairs now, so you can actually get the sound right. Great stage, comfy sofas, bar could still be improved though.

  • I'm so glad I found this place.

    I was very surprised to find a venue like this in Kunming. In the states I would consider this place an awesome venue.

    Don't be afraid to go find this place, you will definitely be satisfied. If you want to help support the Kunming music scene come to events here.

    My only complaint is that the sound was too loud for the amount of people there. In a venue of that size you should be able to talk to the person next to you without yelling.

  • Seems they improved about the cold beers and drink choice, I just went there with a friend and the waitresses friendly came to share their own drinks with us which is cool, but true that there were not that many people .

    there s a ktv in the bar and instruments which are free to play, so for people who are tired of Chinese bars like me, I think it s a nice place

  • They've finally added a few drinkable beers, not cold though. The promoter of the party on Friday told me he's bringing his own bar including cold beers, so I'm looking forward to that because it's a nice venue.

  • I always expect to have a good time here, but the warm beer and lone bottle of gin behind the bar really depress my party mood.
