    • It's okay and the taste quite like the old Indian Kitchen.

In fact their "fapiao" are still "Indian Kitchen".

As I came to dine there during the World Cup, the place is quite packed with chairs and tables though there are only two customers there.

    • I've been sporadically going to Ganesh since its opening night and so far its a place I will keep in my good books.
Though I only had dinner there once, delicious and fairly priced, I usually attend their happy hour and event nights (Tribal moon's unplugged night). It's quite a good alternative to other places to enjoy a cold beer amongst friends and meet interesting people!!
If not for the food, at least pass by for a drink, plus if you ask they put your favorite song on their playlist if available!!

    • Today I went there for lunch. The new decor is a little bit too simple for me, something on the walls downstairs would maybe help, but the food was great!
I had the monday thalis and honestly I couldnt finish it.

It was enough for two people and the quality was very good. The Nan is so much better now.
Only the chinese waiters were slow and there was no mango lassi right now, but all together I was very pleased and also very stuffed :-)

    • So I went to check out Ganesh today to try out some Indian food. The decor inside is very simple, elegant, and few paintings of ganesh the indian god.

as for the food, I tried the chicken Tikka Masala, and the monday thalis.
Also ordered some french fries and a separate dish of kashilim? naan.
Ladies & Gentlemen, I left the restaurant full and happy.
Great indian curry, great chicken, great naan and the price is quite reasonble.
The only thing that made me a little unhappy was that I had to wait 25minutes, 46 seconds. No big deal though since the food was so great.
Definitely try out ganesh, if your open to all sorts of food or your a fan of indian cuisine, you'll like ganesh!

    • As one of the owners of Ganesh I am surprised and disappointed that our food may have made any of our customers sick.

Andre and Misseward please accept my apologies for this.

I have asked my chef and kitchen staff to review the entire food preparation and cooking process to find the cause of the problem.

We have strict hygiene standards and, whilst I can't rule anything out, I would suspect that these problems stem more from the spiciness or creaminess rather than being a bacterial infection.

It would be very helpful to know which dishes in particular cause the problem so we can ensure that this doesn't happen in future.

If either of Andre or Misseward could email me at piers_tussaud@hotmail.com with more details of their experience I would be most grateful.

As an apology we'd like to offer a free bottle of our house red wine to you both.

rollsroyce, if you want to try out a range of flavours without having to spend a lot of money I'd recommend you try one of our Thalis. You get 2 veg curries, a meat curry, raita (indian yoghurt with tomato & onion), rice and naan all for just 29 kuai at lunch time (38 kuai after 3pm) Everyday there are different combinations and we also have a vegetarian option. A friend of mine describes them as a Ganesh Happy Meal!!

      Other dishes I'd recommend are:

Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala (tomato sauce), Palak Paneer (Spinach and Cottage Cheese), Daal (lentils), Mutter Mushroom (Peas and mushrooms), Lamb Rogan-Josh, Chicken Korma.

I'm not a big fan of super-spicy food so I prefer the creamier non-spicy options. If you like spicier dishes, try the Vindaloo.

dianjing, I feel a little stupid hearing that our choice of name has alienated customers. That was not our intention in any way. We chose the name as we wanted to re-design the business as a bar & restaurant together but retain an Indian connection. Please say sorry to your friends but encourage them to try our takeaway or get food delivered through Lazy Bones.

    • i haven't eaten there since the renovations, but am looking forward to it. When it was Indian Kitchen I often ate there and loved everything, and never got sick. I'm looking forward to try the new restaurant, but I can also say some of my friends won't be going there b/c the new name is a religious one. It's not that they're offended but their own religious convictions won't allowed them to eat there. So I can't take a lot of my friends there. I would have loved if the owners had considered that before choosing the new name- maybe the deity Ganesh has a special meaning to them?

    • There's no denying that this is the most delicious Indian food in town. Unfortunately, every time after eating here we have gotten sick. We've kept going because the food is so great, thinking that our sickness must have been caused by something else we'd eaten, but approximately five times without fail we've gotten sick the very next day after eating here. So, um, unless food poisoning is your thing I'd probably advise against going here.

*Actually feel really bad typing this because the staff are so sweet.

    • The setting after the renovation is much better - I am just missing the outdoor seats.

Food is nice, tasts are very good, just I have a personal problem, same as before some of the used ingrdiesnts/spices drive me to toilet 30min after consumption...and there is no exception always same...
I tried different combinations, but I just cant stand it.

    • I don't know where Piers got his chef from, but the guy (or gal) totally rocks!

the samosa is au-so-thentic! and the rest of the stuff could give many restaurants back in India a run for their curry! ;)
