I've never had a problem with my bill or incorrect change at French cafe, and I go there almost daily. As for the service, if you sit downstairs it's no problem. Upstairs is a different story, just give a light shout and they come up quickly. The cocktails are reasonably priced, and are pretty stiff, wine is priced decently, beer on the other hand is pricy in my book. But over all a good place to relax after a big lunch, or prefunk at before bar runs.
The food and atmosphere are really nice but the customer service is awful.
I always have a problem with the waiters when I go there. They are lazy and unprofessional. It takes forever for them to come ask for your order (when they don't simply forget you !) and there are very often mistakes with the bill (always more expensive than what it is supposed to...).
This is the only bad point, but it's pretty annoying to deal with this every time.
Much improved service. They also have tasty authentic French food and their burgers and pizzas are surprisingly good
5 stars. Hands-down the best place to spend an afternoon, indoors or outdoors, with good authentic food and drinks, nice atmosphere, good service and fair prices.
I think the French has changed in a good way. The last time i was there the service was pretty good and it looked like they changed some staff overthere. Earlier on you always had to wait for the waitress to come and they were slow and seemed to be not very happy to serve you. They manage this service part way better now.
