Alei Lounge Club & Tapas Bar
NOW OPEN!
已经开业!
Alei将会是昆明市中心的一个拥有全新体验的国际文化酒廊, 它包括国际化的前卫设计, 丰富多样的酒水, 高端的私人化服务和富有感染力的酒廊环境.
Alei is a new posh lounge club and tapas bar experience in the heart of Kunming, with focus on new international design, top-shelf drinks and spirits, day-time appetizers and tapas, high-end personable service, and an expressive environment.
I went to Alei for the first time last weekend to see Funk Assembly. The show was awesome, and the venue is not a bad one for live music since the stage can be seen from most of the seeting areas and there's even some room for dancing. The place was well-enough interestingly decorated, comfortable furniture. I was shocked that a Qingdao cost 30 kuai. For comparison, it's 3.5 in the store, 12 at Moondog, Scandalous! The cocktail prices were actually not bad, 45 for a long island is perfectly reasonable. It was a busy night, what with the show and all, but it was still annoying to wait 15-20 minutes for each of my 2 drinks, especially since there were about 8 people behind the bar. Also, that shark tank is straight up depressing.
I had a chat with the owner or Alei, who proved his care about Alei's quality.
In my opinion that deserves a review of my review.
(Un)fortunately I was at the wrong time at the "RIGHT" place, which Alei is. The right place to lounge out and enjoy great drinks.
Interior= fantastic
staff = very nice
We had a great time.
I'll echo the previous reviewer. A welcome addition the the Kunming scene that is posh without being ostentatious and serves genuine alcohol.
As the ad for this place mention, it is a posh place. Not the sort of place that I normally would enjoy, but I had fun at this place. There is a good deal to be made on the wine, something I don`t drink myself, but it`s a good deal anyway. The bartender makes good drinks and even if they don`t have it on the menu, they might make one anyway. The music is also not too loud, which is good for conversation.
Classy place with great drinks and good music. Good job!
Nice design and location, good menu, sweet live music and quite decent prices, very well worth a visit. (As to the remarks in my previous review, I've cleared that issue up with the owner and feel satisfied by his gracious reply). I will make re-visits later and update my review.
This place makes good drinks.
After being in Kunming for 2+ months, you realize a good martini should never be taken for granted. Just make sure you're specific on what you want, especially when the bartender is a local.
They had a couple of enjoyable live performances the first time I was there which usually succeeds in making me partial to a place.
Not a big fan of the shark tank and the interior space, but did I mention they make good drinks.
Cool bar.
This is absolutely the most impressive bar/lounge in Kunming. The atmosphere is classy and relaxed. The bar has a huge selection including many things that cannot be found elsewhere in the city (large variety of scotch!), and it is staffed by one of the top award-winning mixologists in China! Snacks are excellent and prices are reasonable, especially the drink specials. Nothing else like it in Kunming!
