My favorite dishes are Chicken Korma and Lamb Vandaloo
(vandaloo is very deliciously spicy). Samosa is also very good and big!!! Price is a bit high in Kunming scale for dining. You may note that there are more Laowei (foreigners) than local dining there.

Seems that they've changed all waitresses in Indian Kitchen (2008/03/28)

We have been here several times now and try to resist going every week but the temptation is very great, even the takeaway is good.

The staff are very friendly and eager to please, Mans the manager/chef, is always happy to oblige in any way to make your meal more personalised.

A cracking place, excellent food, basic interior which is fine, so long as the food is good, which it always has been.

One thing overlooked by the other reviewers in this thread is the selection of vegetarian dishes. Very few places in Kunming are safe or acceptable for vegetarians. It's even harder to find quality veggie dishes that are also substantial enough to satisfy.
Not only are the breads good (and getting better), but the samosas are delicious and almost filling enough to be there own meal (*also veggie). The service is average, and the decor is comfortable enough with out being stereotypical or overly cluttered.

My family and i really enjoy the Indian kitchen. The food , in my opinion, is very good and portion size more than adequate. In particular i would recommend the Aloo Palak and the Nawabi. Was there last night and am happy to report that the naan bread has improved significantly since last visit. The beer is also nice and cold(very important in my books)
Should be nice come winter but i have noticed that the upstairs area, being right over the kitchen, gets a bit uncomfortable during the warmer months. The fans seem to have a hard time coping.

I tend to agree with the previous reviewers. But, I must add, that when I suggest to my friends that we go 'Indian' we expect an Indian atmosphere. Chapter Two (as I've heard this called) does not have that. Just having an Indian menu doesn't do it for me.

The naan may not be perfect, but it's good. What I keep coming back for, though, is the Chicken Korma! It's delicious. They also have lamb and beef korma, which are not available at Cacaja. The samosas are quite tasty too. Like Chapter One, they serve Beer Lao (regular and dark) along with Heineken, Kingfisher, and (of course) Qingdao.

My main complaint is that they raised the prices so much when they spun off from Chapter One.

Had butter chicken, cheese-spinach curry, garlic naan, and plain lassi. Naan could improve(I don't think they have the right oven yet), but overall, everything was delicious. Service was good too.
