This restaurant has an excellent location on the south side of Green Lake. The interior is impressive with a high ceiling, quality décor and nice furniture. The furniture on the ground floor is more practical than comfortable and, unless you intend to use the buffet, I would recommend going upstairs to the very plush furniture and wonderful view of the lake there.
The service was excellent and most of the staff seemed to have a basic grasp of English.
The eating policy here is to choose either the buffet or the a'la carte. We chose to select a'la carte, because we were upstairs and the buffet didn't seem as extensive as other places – additionally, the illustrated menu includes many supplemental items at no extra cost.
My companion chose to have an inexpensive Chinese-style beef and rice dish (my companions are specially selected) and, not surprisingly, the beef was difficult to digest. I chose to have the local lamb chops, which were good even though the onion sauce was very plentiful . . . a few more vegetables would have been better. The good news was the free extras – together with the main order you are asked to choose a soup, a salad, and a soft drink. We shared a excellent chef's salad and, then, a fruit salad for desert. Wine-by-the-glass is not available.
I hope that readers will forgive me for not trying the excellent steak dishes – I'll check my piggy-bank first. And I shall return.
