At the moment the area around Yangshuo may be the hot spot for rock climbing in China, but mountainous Yunnan province contains countless potential climbing spots.

Yunnan has few established climbing routes at present, the main exceptions being a couple of locations outside of Kunming: Fumin Canyon and Xiao Moyu Cave.

GoKunming has added a Kunming rock climbing guide written by Kunming resident and GoKunming reader Lósang Hita. The guide covers Fumin and Xiao Moyu as well as the indoor climbing gyms around the city.
